Third Grade News

June is a busy time in third grade! The students are learning about persuasive writing. We are wrapping up our study of cultures, which will culminate in a dance performance on June 12. We will begin with a song called, “Around the World.” Each of the third grade classes will then perform a dance from a country we have learned about throughout the year. Students also created artwork unique to the country they were assigned. It will be a great celebration of all we have learned in social studies this year. In math students are learning to find the length of an unknown side when given the perimeter of a shape. Students are building on what they learned earlier this year about area and applying it to real-world scenarios. We continue to read daily and have built strong reading stamina throughout the year. We’ve had a wonderful year of learning and growing together! The students are ready to take on fourth grade!
