Sixth Grade News

On Friday the 9th we are heading to Ponquogue Bay to meet the Group for the East End educators.  With GFEE we will be completing a study of the bay habitat, both plants and animals.  In June we will return to the ocean side to complete a comparison study. In Social Studies we just finished our first unit on the Origins of Civilization.  Next up is the unit on Civilizations and Peoples of the Fertile Crescent. In Science we started out with reviewing and practicing how to write a CER (claim, evidence, reason) response in science.  After that we jumped into the text to start learning about the smallest particle of matter, the atom.  In Math, we are reviewing Fractions and Decimals before jumping in to new 6th grade material.
