What a great start second grade has had! Students are settling into the new routine. Students dived right into ELA with Literacy Lab, which will create a community of readers and writers within and outside of the classroom. Students were immersed in a broad range of genres of reading. Students read and wrote many different types of poetry. This month, students will begin personal narratives. In math, we are moving right along into chapter 3, where students will learn strategies for adding within 100. Continue to practice basic math addition facts! In Social Studies, students are working on “Me on the Map”. Students are learning about where they live. Classes are visiting the garden and greenhouses weekly. Thank you to the PTA and special areas for another successful Fall Frenzy; the students enjoyed all the activities.
