Fifth Grade News

The 5th graders are off to a great school year! We are finishing our first Gordon Korman novel, Schooled,and are excited to begin reading Restart this month. In Math, the students have been reviewing number properties and the Order of Operations. During our science unit on Living Things and Ecosystems, the fifth graders had the opportunity to dissect owl pellets in order to better understand how our digestive system breaks down energy that we need to survive as consumers. Our next lesson will focus on decomposers and their importance in every ecosystem. We are looking forward to another great month ahead!
