First graders visited the Children’s Museum of the East End, where the students had a great time exploring all the interactive activities.  In math, we are focusing on adding numbers to 20, using many different strategies including a double tens frame, a number line, counting on.  In writing, the students have been immersed in becoming cartographers while listening to many mentor authors.  In Fundations, we have been working on digraphs, bonus letters and glued sounds.  Our goal is to master “Trick Words” with fluency.
